PDF Font Analyzer

Deep analysis of font embedding in PDF documents. Detect subsetting issues, missing glyphs, and encoding problems.

Font analysis examines every font resource in the document, reporting embedding type (full, subset, or reference), format (Type1, TrueType, OpenType CFF), and coverage statistics showing which glyphs are included.

Subsetting validation checks that all characters used in the document text are present in the subset font. Missing glyphs are identified with their page number and text context, helping diagnose display issues on different PDF readers.

Encoding analysis maps character codes to Unicode values through the font's encoding dictionary and ToUnicode CMap. Discrepancies between these mappings cause copy-paste problems and are flagged with suggested corrections.

Font metric comparison evaluates whether substitute fonts maintain compatible widths. Even small width differences can cause text reflow, so the analyzer reports per-character width deviations above a configurable threshold.
